Hi, I’m Becky Hsu, and this is what inspires me:
SHARING STORIES
AND CAPTURING BEAUTIFUL
MEMORIES

THE PERSON BEHIND LOOKING GLASS PHOTOGRAPHY.
I believe the photographs we treasure most aren't necessarily the ones where everything went perfectly.
They're the ones that bring you back.
The laugh you almost forgot. The way your child looked at you. The pride on a senior's face. The personality behind someone's professional portrait. The little details of a business that make it feel like yours.
Those are the moments I want to preserve.
IT STARTED WITH MY DAUGHTER.
I started Looking Glass Photography in 2010 because I couldn't stop photographing my daughter.
I took thousands of pictures during those early years—little expressions, milestones, ordinary days, and moments that seemed small at the time but became incredibly meaningful later.
It made me realize something: childhood moves quickly.
And photography gives us a way to pause it.
That personal experience became the foundation for the way I photograph today. I want to create images that don't simply document a moment, but allow you to return to it years from now.
My approach is simple: BE PRESENT.
I don't want your photo session to feel stiff, rushed, or overly complicated.
For family sessions, I use natural light, authentic settings, and true-to-life editing. I'll give you gentle guidance when you need it, but I also want room for the real stuff—the laughter, movement, connection, and personalities that make your family yours.
The result is a mix of timeless portraits and candid moments that feel honest and natural.
And one thing is especially important to me:
Moms belong in the photographs, too.
So often, moms are the ones behind the camera documenting everyone else's lives.
I make a point of photographing Mom during every family session—not just as part of the group, but as herself. With her children. With her family. In the moments she might otherwise miss.
Because you shouldn't have to look back on your family's memories and realize you were missing from them.

Photography isn't only about preserving personal memories.
It's also about helping people understand who you are, what you do, and why they should trust your business.
For branding sessions, I start by getting to know you—not just as a business owner, but as the person behind the brand. We'll talk about your business, your ideal clients, your personality, and the story you want your images to communicate.
From there, we'll build a customized mood board and shot list to guide the creative direction, including:
Overall visual aesthetic
Color palette
Locations
Wardrobe
Types of images you'll need
The personality you want your brand to communicate
This thoughtful planning gives us a clear vision before your session and helps us create a cohesive collection of images you can confidently use across your website, marketing, and social media.
The goal isn't simply to make your business look professional.
It's to make your business look like you.
YOUR BUSINESS HAS A STORY. YOUR IMAGES SHOULD TELL IT.
LET’S MAKE PHOTOGRAPHS THAT FEEL LIKE YOU.
You don't need to know exactly what you want before reaching out.
That's part of the process.
Bring me your idea, your questions, your Pinterest board, your business goals, your slightly chaotic family—or simply the feeling you're hoping to capture.
We'll take it from there. Let’s Work Together! Fill out the form.
